Hey there folks, few big changes we made this morning: - You are only viewing the online users and questions from one group at a time. You can pick which one from the dropdown at the top of your screen. - You can join as many groups as you want. Groups whose questions you aren't currently viewing are in the dropdown, and show you how many questions have come in since you logged on and last checked that group. - You can chat in any of the groups you're a member of at the bottom of your screen. So even though you can only view questions from one group, you can still interact with the people in the other groups. Let us know if you like these changes (give them a few hours/days to sink in!) and we'll continue to improve OpenStudy to make things Better™!
first impressions - Neat!
Sweet but where did go that lovely feature that brings the options when i type @ in question box?

yes - just noticed what @figi just said. we seemed to have lost a useful feature.
it would be nice to have some sort of indicator that told you that a group that you are not currently viewing has just had a new question asked since you last checked it.
I mean an indicator that was always visible. i.e. I do not want to have to click to dropdown the list of groups and then scroll around to check if any new questions have been asked since the last time I checked.
Ohhhh... shiny new UI. And it loaded quicker, too.
Glad to hear there was some faster load :) Chances are it's due to binding fewer people compared to the old version.
Figi—you can no longer ask questions to multiple groups, so you don't need to @-mention anything in the popup. Just ask your question and it'll be posted in the group you're currently viewing.
There's a tiny bit more info @ http://blog.openstudy.com/2011/11/19/multiple-groups-take-two/ (though not much)—basically the feature was being abused a bit much for our tastes.
asnaseer—an interesting point for sure. We had some discussions and ultimately decided to leave it off right now, but if we get a lot of requests for it we'll definitely reconsider.
Great job guys! This way the website is faster, and easier to surf! :) .
I agree with alfie, it becomes much more easier to use the website.
Great to hear! There are still some issues with people being marked online and offline, unfortunately, and we'll be looking at those. There are also a few bugs, many of which will be fixed when we do the next release in the next few hours.
