    Yes, the lecturers on 600 use macs. There's a guide on the python website.

    Python is installed, even with out the Developer tools. As far back as 10.5 (Leopard) that I'm sure of.

    Yep. It's only Windows that you have to install it on.

    Although the pre-installed Python on some systems may be newer than the one they use in the class.
