Of 26, 492 births, 869 males and 642 females were born with birth defects. What is the ratio of males and females born with birth defects? What is the rate of babies born with birth defects? would ratio be like for every 1 female there is 1.3 say male or how does that work

    I agree with your answer of 1.3 for the first part: Males with defects:females with defects would be 849:642. For the second part, try adding the males + females with defects and divide by the total number of births. OK?
