Show that lim x tends to 2 [[x]] does not exist. Also plot in a graph. Ayone to help me?

    i assume this is the "greatest integer function, so that [[x]] means greatest integer less than or equal to x, so for example [[2.3]] = 2, [[-2.3]]= -3

    function is also some times called "floor" and here is a nice picture, which will explain why it is called a "step function" and also why the limit as you approach 2 does not exist. from the left it is 2, from the right it is 3 http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=floor%28x%29
