    \[2x^2+x=15\]-15 -15\[2x^2+x-15=0\] I get this far, then I can't get it to foil. It should be able to go into a (2x-a)(x+b) format, but a and b won't add up.

    @above some quadratic equations cannot be factored :)

    so we use the quadratic formula, or synthetic division since i already got one solution
