2x^2 – x -15= 0 Now what two numbers times to give -30 and add to give -1?

    these are the choices: a. x = 5/2 and x = 7 b. x = 7 /2 and x = –1 c. x = 3 and x = –5 /2 d. x = 3 and x = 1

    So we can write 2x^2 – x -15= 0 as 2x^2 – 6x +5x-15= 0 Now we are going to group like terms (2x^2 – 6x)+( 5x-15)= 0 and factor 2x(x – 3)+5( x-3)= 0 and factor again (x – 3)(2x+5)= 0 okay now we can find out what x is x-3=0 x=3 and 2x+5=0 2x=-5 x=-5/2 So the answer is c.
