    Okay bluestar. Let's figure this out. A rational number is any number that can be represented as a fraction. A fraction is all of the following\[{1 \over 2} ~ or~ {7 \over 8} ~ or ~ {12 \over 12312314142141}\]

rational!. rational is any fraction, aka anything that can be represented as p(x)/q(x) . ANY fraction means rational. anything that CANNOT be a fraction (it goes on infinitely) is irrational.
