Good Morning, My MS Word class asks the question: Is it proper to have only one space after a sentence period or is two the accepted practice? Thanks for your help. Keith

Depends on who you ask. The American Psychiatric Association used to require one space but switched to 2 in 2010 with the release of the 6th Ed. of the APA Manual. Prior to my use of APA format in 2007, I was told to use 2 spaces after periods.

    MLA format prefers one space.
