    The carp out-competed the native species for food and space. they were originally implanted into the Mississippi river in the hope of controlling an overpopulated breed of fish, however they soon began breeding at exceptional rates and preying on the predatory species of the river. Now the total number of carp is unknown and hard to determine or control. little fun fact haha
