Groundwater, which springs to the surface, accumulates and stores in the fresh water lakes. Other part of the groundwater finds openings on the surface and forms wellsprings. The part found at low depth, is taken by the plants roots and transpired through the leaves; going back to the atmosphere. Another part, reaches the lower levels of the ground, and recharges the aquifers, which store large quantities of fresh water for long periods of time. Many people depend on aquifers in order to have water daily.
