Write a system of two equations using x and y for the following problem: The sum of two numbers is 170 and their difference is 26. Find the two numbers.

    2x=196 , x=98 y=72

    I solved it because it says use x and y for variables. Also x and y represent the two numbers whose sum is 170 and whose difference is 26.
