    correct, or more precisely, +9n and -8n

    -7 +9n-8n combine 9n and -8n this leaves you with n so your answer is n-7

    combine them; 9-8 doesnt really care what you call it :)

    meither u are combining.... so positive 9n and negative 8n would leave you with jus n
