Which of the following is the antecedent for the pronoun them in the sentence below? Penelope and her maids walked towards the suitors and gave them the bow. Penelope her maids the suitors

    Well who is she giving the bow to? That's the antecedent of "them." The antecedent is just the noun that the pronoun refers back to ("back to" because the noun generally precedes the pronoun in the sentence or passage).

    The suitors :) The subject(Penelope and the maids) is doing an action towards the suitors( the object) .
