Explain why taking a series of markdowns is not the same as taking the total sum of the same markdowns. For example, a markdown of 25% followed by a 30% is not the same as a 55% total markdown. Do research, and find the cost of a particular item that you wish to purchase. Using your item of choice, show how the series markdown is different from the total markdown. (Note: Use values of your choice for the percentages other than the given values.)
