## anonymous 4 years ago CUBEROOT(-16a^3b^8)

1. anonymous

$\sqrt[3]{-16a^3b^8}$

2. anonymous

Is it simplified to a * CUBEROOT(-16b^8) ? or in equation form $a*\sqrt[3]{-16b^8}$

3. Akshay_Budhkar

$2ab^2\sqrt[3]{2b^2}$

4. anonymous

care to explain?

5. Akshay_Budhkar

i just simplified it further by writing 16 as 2 * 8 ( cube root of 8 is 2) similarly writing b^8 as b^2 *b^6 ( cube root of b^6 is b^2)

6. Akshay_Budhkar

are u still confused?

7. anonymous

lemme think for a second

8. Akshay_Budhkar

sure its easy ..

9. anonymous

that makes me feel better...

10. anonymous

and then you just took the a out right?

11. anonymous

will you give me a practice one to see if i can get it right?

12. Akshay_Budhkar

yes i just took it out right

13. Akshay_Budhkar

ok i will give u a question

14. Akshay_Budhkar

$\sqrt[3]{48a^6b^5}$

15. anonymous

4a^2b * cuberoot(3b^2)

16. Akshay_Budhkar

your variables a and b are correct, but there seems to be a problem in your constant.. look again and think with a cool mind

17. anonymous

Oops i see where i messed up

18. Akshay_Budhkar

lol its good to realize your mistakes :)

19. anonymous

very true

20. Akshay_Budhkar

so correct yourself

21. anonymous

2 is the outside coefficient, and 6 is the inside coefficient

22. Akshay_Budhkar

yup correct :D you got it :)
