hey pippa, so I kinda know half of the problem: SO just find the determinante, and you will get: Det= \[1(bc^3-cb^3)-1(ac^3-a^3c)+1(ab^3-ba^3)\] however, now when you take out the brackets you have to simplify it, by grouping terms, which is very nasty and I did not attempt doing. But, hopefully someone will come and finish it off, in the mean time you try and solve the rest. so after you take out brackets you will get: \[(bc^3-cb^3-ac^3+a^3c+ab^3-ba^3)\]
