What are the most powerful programming languages available in terms of expressiveness?

    The simplest and sometimes the smallest can be the most eloquent.

    Just refreshed my memory A++ for the smallest and Brainf**k for being expressive in a visual sense, not particularly useful though.

    Yeah it really depends on what you mean by expressiveness. Lisp can be the most expressive because it has minimal syntax and therefore maximum flexibility. Smalltalk can be the most expressive because its passing-messages-to-objects model is fairly straightforward to understand, and its syntax is meant to read like English where possible.
