Pete traveled 1,380 miles in two days. First day he traveled 1.5 times as far than the second day. How far did he drive the first day? I think its 920 miles.

    x= 2nd day 1.5x= first day x+1.5x=1380 Can you solve that?

    Yes. That is x and remember x is the second day. The problem asks how far he travelled the first day and that is 1.5x
