I'm given a surface \[\ x^2+y^2+2z=1\]; in 1st octant And I need to calculate total flux passing through this surface. (Never mind the function of flux right now.) I can write this expression above as: \[\ x^2 +y^2 = 1-2z \] So now I can convert to polar coordinates where \[\ r=\sqrt{1-2z} \]. Since \[\ 0<z<\frac{1}{2} \] I can get limits for r (which is easy, even from the graph), but in which direction will I integrate? \[\int\limits_{0}^{1}\]or\[\int\limits_{1}^{0}\]
