I need to simplify it

$\frac{10}{\sqrt2}= \frac{2 \times 5 }{\sqrt 2 } = \frac{\sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{2} \times 5 }{\sqrt{2}}=\frac{\cancel {\sqrt{2}} \times \sqrt{2} \times 5 }{\cancel{\sqrt{2}}}= 5\sqrt{2}$

where did you get the $\sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{2} \times 5$ from?

$2 = \sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{2}$ or $(\sqrt{2})^2 =2$

why wouldn't that be $\sqrt{4}$

Yes it is $$\sqrt{4}$$ which is equal to 2 $\sqrt{4}=2$

$\sqrt{4}= \pm{2}$
