how do you find the lenghth of the hypotenuse in a 45 degree- 45 degree- 90 degree triangle??

    1^2 + 1^2 = c^2 1+1 = c^2 2 = c^2 sqrt(2) = c

    since the length of a side is scaled by 9, the hyp is scaled by 9 as well

    1 = sqrt(2) 9*1 = 9*sqrt(2)

    (5.3)^2 + (5.3)^2 = hyp^2 or; since the legs are scaled by 5.3; scale the hyp of a unit cube by 5.3

    i get 5.3 * .2 = 5.6 . being a lazy sqrt
