What is f(2) and how do I find it on a u shaped graph?

    f(2) is the function value at x=2 or when x is plugged into your equation.

    |dw:1327904979828:dw| I assume that your graph, a parabola, is given to you on grid paper. At 2 on the x-axis, draw a vertical line passing through 2. The equation of this line is x =2. Notice where this line intersects the given graph. The y-value of that point of intersection is f(2). If the graph was given to you on grid paper, you can count to determine that y-value known in this case as f(2).
