http://curriculum.kcdistancelearning.com/courses/GEOMx-HS-WA10/a/assessments/Q-KiteTrapezoidQuiz/Geometry_Unit5_4_Quiz_Final_21q.gif I don't understand how to find the area for this. Could someone please explain - NOT SOLVE - how I get the area for this? Thank you.

    I know that that I have to multiply base times the height but I don't know how to find the area for this particular figure.

    base time height minus the area of the missing triangle 9*9 - 1/2( 5*4)=81-10 = 71
