    \[\tan \theta=opposite/adjacent\], so tan30=x/7, multiply both side by 7

    you actually do not need trig for this, just know the ratios of the triangle

    for that triangle , if the short side is 1, the ratios are \[1,\sqrt{3},2\] for short side, long side, hypotenuse

    tan 30 = x/7 x = 7 * tan 30 = 4.042 OR \[7/\sqrt{3}\]

    so you know \[\sqrt{3}x=7\] and this \[x=\frac{7}{\sqrt{3}}\]
