Carol bought a new winter coat at 35% off and paid $156 what was the orginal price of the coat? I am not sure how to work this one.

    If teh coat was 35% off, that means she only paid 65% of the original price (and that is $156) So 156 is 65/100 of X X si 100/65 of 156 (100/65) * 156 = 240 The original price of the coat was $240
