$\frac{8(x-2)}{(x-11)(x-2)}=\frac{8}{x-11}$

Okay so, 8x-16/x^2 -2x -11x +22 At first we just factorize the denominator. So we get, 8x-16/(x-2)(x-11) Then take 8 common from numerator so: 8(x-2)/(x-2)(x-11) Cancel x-2 from numerator and denominator So we are left with: 8/x-11 Which is our answer :)

do you always factor the denominator first?
