## anonymous 4 years ago z/-28+44=49

1. anonymous

${z\over-28}= 49-44$${z\over-28}=5$$z=-140$

2. anonymous

How did you get -140? I got up to z/-28=5, but I don't know how you did the rest.

3. anonymous

You bring -28 over the other side, thereby multiplying 5 by -28.

4. anonymous

$z/-28+44 = 49$ first you might like to multiply by reciprocal -28+44 ( z /-28+44 ) = 49 (-28+49) z = 49 (- 28 + 49) can you do the rest?

5. anonymous

${z}= 5\times-28$

6. anonymous

Ok.

7. anonymous

just multiply the whole equation by -28+44 first this will make your problem much easier

8. anonymous

its just the same as what order did

9. anonymous

but faster :P

10. anonymous

I've never seem your method.... I find my method pretty neat ;)

11. anonymous

well it just the same i just do it in 1 step z/-28+44 = 49 -28+44 [ z / -28+44 = 49 ] fraction go bb

12. anonymous

u did it in 2 steps i did it in 1

13. anonymous

Yup, It's quicker, but the numbers are much larger to work with...

14. anonymous

same thing

15. anonymous

z/-28+44 = 49 -28+44 [ z / -28+44 = 49 ] z = 49( -28+44 ) z = 784

16. anonymous

:/

17. anonymous

hmm i always do something wrong lol

18. anonymous

I know, it's because you multiplied the whole equation by -28+44..

19. anonymous

You're first meant to subtract 44 from 49

20. anonymous

thats not incorrect

21. anonymous

22. anonymous

lol

23. anonymous

Yeah, I thought so. Everyone makes mistakes :)

24. anonymous

there should have been a parenthesis really

25. anonymous

o well

26. anonymous

Could be the fact that it's 1:30 in the morning, also.

27. anonymous

Could be...!

28. anonymous

put parenthesis the calculator will want you to put them there also

29. anonymous

!!

30. anonymous

or its just going to read it just like i am

31. anonymous

True... Maybe just forgot?

32. anonymous

:P

33. anonymous

so i got an excuse haha
