    To use a graphing method, solve for y for both equations. So, \[y=3-.5x\] and \[y=4-2/5x\] Then, on a graphing utility, or by hand, graph them both and see where they intersect. I think that would give you the answer for part 2.

    just graph the both lines and find the there intersection point
