    counting principle 5 vowels, 5 choices one number, 10 choices by counting principle there are \[5\times 10=50\] possible combinations

    ok i should learn to read. it says the numbers 1 through 6, so only six choices of numbers and therefore \[5\times 6=30\] possible license plates
