A box with an open top is formed by cutting squares out of the corners of arectangular piece of cardboard and then folding up the sides . If x reps the length of the side of the square cut from each corner, and if the original piece of cardboard is 16in by 9in . What size square must be cut if the volume of the box is to be 120 cubic inches? PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE

    V=x(16-2x)(9-2x)=120

    x(144-50x+4x^2)=120 144x-50x^2+4x^3-120=0

    I would use synthetic division to solve that and I would try some fairly small numbers like 2 and 3 first. No need to try negative numbers as the answer must be positive.
