Place the steps for solving by the substitution method in order. Substitute the expression on the right of the equal sign into the variable in the other equation. Write the solution as an ordered pair. Write one of the equations in terms of x or y. Substitute the value into the original equation and solve for the remaining variable. Solve for the variable.
