In APA format if you are summarizing what was researched do you still put it in quotes? How do you reference it?

Only use quotes if you are directly quoting your source and always cite at the end of the quote. If you are paraphrasing your source, cite at the end of the paragraph or where your paraphrase ends. Make a reference page entry like you would any other the exception being personal communications which need in-text citations, but no reference page entry.
