f(x)=y x= 4 so substitute 4 for x
put that feller in that there function and you got yourself a nice little output. f[x]=-2x so at x=4 f[4]=-2(4)=??
i dont understan :(

Other answers:

just substitute 4 into x... so f(x)= -2(4)= -8
i dont divide?
|dw:1328847717687:dw| there is a visual of what is going on
Why would you divide?
the function says at a "x" you will have a "y" value that is "=" to -2x. So when x is 4 (x=4) then the y value would be -2(4)=-8
