Simplify the given rational expression. Assume all variable expressions in the denominator are nonzero.6x^2-xy over 6x^2-7xy+y^2

    (6x^2 - xy) /( 6x^2 - 7xy +y^2) = x/(x - y)

    Yes, but I am not sure how Directrix got to the answer

    factor the numerator and denominator if there is a common factor between numerator and denominator, cancel it out since the operation involved is division. then simplify if need to be simplified. .
