use system of linear equations: at a local high school basketball game, 1435 tickets were sold. a student admission ticket cost 1.50 and an adult admission ticket cost 5.00. The total ticket receipts for the game were 3552.50. how many of each type of ticket were sold?

    let x = student admission, and y= adult admission First sentence tells us that the total number of tickets is 1435 so.. x+y=1435 -> equation 1 The next part tells us the price of each ticket and the total amount of money made so.. 1.50*x+5*y=3552.50 -> Equation 2 Can you solve it from here?
