I enjoyed this book very much, I haven't found one better for my learning style so far...you can preview the pages on amazon and best part it's cheaper than most books out there...skip the kindle edition the print is much richer... - http://www.amazon.com/HTML-XHTML-Sixth-Elizabeth-Castro/dp/0321430840/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1330618916&sr=1-2

Not a book, but the most accurate and up-to-date reference you may mind, since it's by the World Wide Web Consortium itself: http://w3schools.com
