The cross section is a rectangle with length= the diagonal of the face with sides 3 inches and 6 inches breadth=the breadth of the prism= 8 inches \[length=\sqrt{6^2+3^2}=6.70\ inches\] Area=length * breadth= 6.7*8=53.6 or 54 inches
