what are you focusing on? any specific points you're concentraring on?
Maybe "The very reason humanity has existed this long is because of our love for each other and willingness to help out our fellow man.
is compassion learned or innate? where does is come from. just a good start up about around that subject.. my professors really stern about having a good start up
You don't generally come up with a good startup sentence right off the bat. You have to sit down and think about your overall subject and write about it first. As you write your thoughts, and begin to work with them, you'll start to refine what those thoughts are. You'll flush out your questions and issues, the areas you need more research in, and so on. You'll start to figure out your thesis and then to refine that thesis. If you sit down and find you have no thoughts at all about your topic, or your thoughts feel so muddled that you can't even figure out where to begin to put something down -- even in terms of thinking through the issues, this is not writing your paper yet -- then you probably don't know enough about the topic yet to write about it. That means you'll have to do a little reading up on the topic, to get more of a feel for it, to fill in your own background. You can't write about something when you know nothing about it. You have to know something about it to have something to say, right> Everyone approaches this process a little differently, but you have to recognize that it is a PROCESS. You are not going to be able to sit down and write out a paper, from start to finish, just like that. It takes prep. It takes a lot of rewriting. Writing is a process of thinking through your thoughts in words you can see on the page.
