Which of the following best describes the relationship between products and reactants in an exothermic reaction? ( 1 points) Answer The potential energy of the products is greater than the potential energy of the reactants. The reactants are simple compounds, and the product is a more complex compound. The potential energy of the products is less than the potential energy of the reactants. The reactants are water and an ionic salt, and the products are H+ ions and OH- ions.

    C. should be it because thermodynamically a reaction only proceeds if the reactants move towards a more stable status, that is when they have lesser energy. (remember the activation energy curve if you have read it?)
