for a short sighted person the image from long distances comes and converges BEFORE the retina(screen) so i want to push back the image or in scientific words i want to make my lens more diverged so which type of lens gives me images diverged?
thanks, what about for the first question?
do u know which lens to use? to get inverted image?
probably i think it is convex, that's just for making sure i didn't get it wrong, but the real problem is i don't where it locates :S
for concave all images are erect..
place yes ur convex lens anywhere between infinity and focus point and get a laterally inverted image if u put it otherwise then its an errect one |dw:1332601867915:dw|
it is for a concave LENS that all are errect note the difference btw lens and mirror
is it like that: when the image is inverted, it is also laterally inverted?
oh my....sorry i dint give attention to laterally inverted.........as far as i know only a plane mirror produces a laterally inverted image.......i will let u know if i get to know abt this for lenses
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_a_lens_laterally_invert_images hey see this it says that convex produces laterally inverted like inverted
i'm going to draw a table for better revision on this topic :D
yes u shud! this is all memorising do it for a mirror the oposite it for a lens
is that correct then?
for mirror, the image is erect but laterally inverted, virtual, of the same size as the object for convex lens placed between infinity to F, the image is laterally inverted, real, diminished/of the same size/magnified.
are u asking for plane mirror in the first case?
yes it is exactly wat u see in a mirror at home... do u have the table that u can make for these?
what do you mean?
u know abt the image formations? of convex and concave lenses?
yup... i think i know it
have that table made first in a paper then in ur mind! all the best!
thanks for your help :)
i have one in the book but i want to make my own (for my own convenience). I don't really understand the term ' laterally inverted' when i see the images in my book but it's okay now
just like wat u see in a mirror the left side to the right u raise ur left hand while ur reflection raises its right arm
