they are volumes and total surface area of a cyclinder...the area of a cyclinder is equal to the lateral surface area (2 pi rh) + the area of the two bases (2pi r^2 h) and the volume of a cylinder is equal to area of the base x height

i know what each variable mean...but ... when i look at the cylinder, i dont get why use 2pi r^2 insteead of 2pi r < for circumference

volume of cylinder is the area of the base of the cylinder multiplied by the height if the cylinder so V = (πr²)h the surface area of a cylinder is the area of the area of top+area of bottom + area of rectangle you get by flattening the cylinder A = πr²+πr² + 2πrh
