Are you talking about Progressivism? It was a movement to seek better working conditions, affordable housing, and better welfare for children in the 19th and 20th centuries. Women can hold careers, there are limits on how young workers can be, unions are legal and many companies have worker's unions. and many countries have welfare systems to provide homes for those living in poverty. On the other hand corporations export jobs to places that don't have these progressive laws in place, and where they can hire child labour for pennies a day.
