I need the y intercept

y intercept can be found by putting x=0, and finding y at that point. however you see that the equation here is in standard y=mx+c format. right?? here m equals slope and c equals the y-intercept itself. so you can compare and find c??? what do you think the answer will be? post and verify!

so -19/5 is the y-intercept?

yeah. its the distance from origin on y-axis where the line meets y-axis. that (0, -19/5). (-19/5 means it meets below the origin). if you are asked length of the y-intercept the of course you need to answer in modulus. that is 19/5 is the length ('cause length can't be negative, can it?) i ll show what y-intercept is using a drawing below. |dw:1332631335754:dw|
