But i know they form an action and reaction pair...

R5 = 120 + R3cosθ when u wrote this eqn u have to remember that for equilibrium all the upward forces=all the downward forces so R5 = 150 + R3cosθ or r3sin@ (it doesnt matter we have to prove that r5 is greater than combined weight)
