solve the inequality: 6(x^2-1)>5x i got the correct answer except for the direction of the greater than/less than signs in the end....every problem i do i end up with them in the opposite direction of what they are supposed to be....

yes but i had that x > -2/3, and x > 3/2 while the book has x < -2/3 and x > 3/2. i just don't get why the one changes. and it seems to do that on every problem.

|dw:1332798686020:dw| I use the number line to help me. Once I find those x-values I put in numbers between those x-values to find where the expression is positive and where it's negative. this makes it easy for me visually.

ok yea,my teacher rushed through this in class and it made no sense to me, but i vaguely recall it from a previous class. i think i will try and youtube a vid on it thank you!

just choose "easy" numbers like 0, 5000, -5000 because remember, all your concerned with is the sign NOT the value.
