hmmm i'll try but it's really a rule a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b) is the property of the difference of two squares your first monomial is 9x^2..this can be rewritten as (3x)^2 yes? therefore your a is 3x your second monomial is 4y^2 rewritten is (2y)^2 so b=2y substitute to the property.. (3x+2y)(3x-2y)
