what's the same?

ok, i'll do the numerator: common to both terms are t, g. so factoring the numerator, tgx + tgy = tg(x + y) now you do the same with the denominator....
anonymous
  • anonymous
so: (tg(x+y))/(ctgx+ctgy)... then?

what's common in ctgx + ctgy ?

(tg(x+y))/(ctg(x+y)) ??
anonymous
  • anonymous
yes. now cancel common factors from the top and bottom..

|dw:1332869956801:dw| only when the numerator and denominator are factored you can cancel common factors

use the drawing to cancel... press the pencil in the upper right hand corner of the drawing.

this is the way the problem was written... simplify: (tgx+tgy)/(ctgx+ctgy) the answer of tgx is not correct...
