Do you understand "the area is growing with a factor of 1.5 each year"
Start with 5,000 ft^2

I'm not sure I follow u clorophyll......why would it go to the second power?
after 1 year, area = 1500 + 1.5(1500)=3750
after 2 years, area = 3750 + 1.5(3750) = 9735
after 3 years, area = 9735 +1.5(9735) = 23437.5
after 4 years, area = 23437.5 + 1.5(23437.5) = 58593.75
after 5 years, area = 58593.75 + 1.5(58593.75) = 146484.375
It's just the unit of area!
oh psh duh thanks
sorry i accidentally took 5000 as 1500....but the method would be the same....
oh ok good i was kinda confused.... thanks guys
It's basically a function table. You have the function y = 5000(1.5)^x. The insert the values of x 1-5 because it asks for the next 5 years.
@Calcmathlete my method the same!
@Savvy check your solution! It's factor of 1.5!
I'm just clarifying the general concept.
whoa now i'm very confused..... who is correct here?
