You can't solve an expression. There are two sides to an equation.

this is true

DUH SO TELL ME NEITHER OF THESE ARE THE ANSWERS A. 6 is a solution to the original equation. The value –5 is an extraneous solution. B. 6 and 5 are both extraneous solutions. C. 5 is a solution to the original equation. The value –6 is an extraneous solution. D. 6 and –5 are solutions.

yoou have not posted an equation
eyust707

so none of those are true

Look, I'll do your homework for you, but you need to give me an actual doable problem. There are two sides to an "equation" (note the word equal in it). Now, give me the other side, so I can solve it.

  • eyust707
your actually not supposed to do that either

there no other side all the gave me was that

Can you take a picture of the problem or give a screenshot?
eyust707
  • eyust707
daja then none of those are true.. it is not an equation so it can not be "solved"

its actually suppose to be x= x+3o with square root ove the x and 30

\[x = \sqrt{x + 30}\]

Square both sides, simplify, and substitute back. The solutions that don't work are extraneous, and the ones that do are the solutions.
