    Take the middle term and divide it by 2. And then square it (^2). You'll get your last term.

    another trick is to factor it: (x)(x+4) and take that last number and spread it evenly between the two (x+2)(x+2)

    4/2 = 2 2^2 = 4. So: x² + 4x +4
